I saw this toddler learning wall on the net and was very excited to prepare one for my toddler. It is used for the circle time. This is to be completed still, but couldn't wait to share with all of you.
I tried to include -
Days of the week:- teaching days of the week becomes easy with this, as during circle time we can repeatedly say the days of the week. There is also a song for this. So it can taught with the song.
Colours:- different colours can be used here. I used the basic colours to teach. You can add more to it.
Shapes:- you can include shapes, as at this age they get accustomed with different shapes. After circle time, you can use different shape related activities which will make it more easier to understand for the toddler.
Numbers:- this is just a start to learn numbers for a 16 month old. But continuous exposure to this would help them learn the numbers.
Months of the year:- same as days of the week, months of the year can be taught. Repeatative circle time narration helps them to grasp this.
Letter of the day and word of the day:- this is a great start for phonic sounds and alphabets. My daughter is 16months now and want to start with this. So this is a goos way to teach alphabet and alphabet sounds. You can change the letter and word each day or I wouod recommend to change it every week which makes it easier for the toddler to remember.
Weather for today:- I want to include this in my learning wall which I habpve kept blank for now. After looking today's weather outside, we will be ticking it in this section.
