Texture balloons sensory play - sensory basket

Sensory activity with balloons is a very different activity to introduce to babies and toddlers. As the fillers are packed inside the balloons, there is no threat of mouthing and any spills. The kid can have fun exploring different textures and have a nice sensory play.


Materials needed :-
- balloons
-Rice / Semolina / play sand / waterbeads / grains / water / salt
-Funnel


Method:-
- Take a balloon and using a funnel fill it with any of the above mentioned filler materials. U need to fill two balloons with the same filler material.
- After you are done with all the balloons, just place them in a basket and the activity is ready.
- The kid can first touch,feel,explore and enjoy the play with balloons.
- To take this activtity to the next level, u can ask the kid to take a balloon and then match it the corresponding filler balloon. In this way, it will be a nice sensory play for the kid.
- This activity is good for strengthening the wrist and fingers which is necessary for pre-writing skills.
