Diwali Diya hanging tutorial

Diwali brings along togetherness, creativity and lots of positive energy. To gear up this Diwali, I started to decorate our house with handmade creatives. The first one in line is this beautiful Diya hanging. It looks so beautiful and moves around with breeze. It can also be a nice Diwali craft for kids.

Check the step by step tutorial -

Materials needed:

- A4 size color papers (I have used red, yellow and purple)
- Scissor
- Glue
- Marker/sketch pen
- Thread

Method:

1. Take the red color paper and fold it twice. Repeat the same with purple color paper.
2. Now using a round lid and sketch pen, mark a circle on the folded paper.
3. Cut the circular part. Now you will get four circles of red and purple color each.
4. Now for the flame of the diya, take the yellow color paper and fold it thrice.
5. Along the edge of the folded sheet, draw the half flame and cut it. You will get four individual flames. You will need in total 12 flames.

6. now take the red and purple circles and cut them into half.
7. Again fold each of the semicircles into fold (do not cut it, only fold)
8. Stick the sides of the two folded semicircles. Do this for all the remaining pieces.
9. Also stick the sides of the two folded flames. Repeat this for all other flame pieces.
10. Now align the thread on the table and stick the flames and base of the diya as shown below.
